PAUL SARLO JUST WASN’T ENOUGH FOR MA…
Grandma Norcross is looking for another head to hang and has again turned on Bergen County, this time its elected Executive.
Loretta Weinberg has told Dennis McNerney that she is using senatorial courtesy (a secret privilege among senators) to block his appointment to a nine-member state panel that will study government consolidation. Governor Corzine nominated McNerney for the post last year.
It’s yet another flip-flop for the mercurial Weinberg, who last month told The Record she had "no reason not to support" McNerney. She did the same with John Molinelli months before.
On Sunday, in Charlie Stile’s column, the Record reported this: “Weinberg also declined to discuss her reasons for blocking McNerney's appointment, but said she wanted to ‘first have a meeting with my Democratic Senate colleagues on a package of important non-judicial appointments for Bergen County.’”
What happened to that often touted demand for openness in government, Senator?
