Congressman Steve Rothman Endorses Dennis Shulman's Campaign
Shulman's momentum continues to grow as national leaders take increasing interest in race
Demarest, NJ – Following a week in which the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) lobbed several attacks on Congressman Scott Garrett's (R-Wantage) skewed priorities, Congressman Steve Rothman (NJ-9) joined the General Wesley K. Clark, Teamsters Joint Council No. 73, New York Governor David Paterson, and numerous New Jersey political figures in endorsing Dennis Shulman's campaign to unseat Garrett in New Jersey's Fifth Congressional District.
"After meeting with Dennis and hearing about him from people throughout Northern New Jersey, I am convinced that he will make an excellent Member of Congress. I am committed to working with Dennis in 2008 so that, together, we can help solve the problems of NewJersey and the nation in 2009," said Congressman Steve Rothman.
"I am thrilled to have Congressman Rothman endorse my effort to bring change for the working families of Northern New Jersey," said Shulman. "Congressman Rothman has been a leader on many issues, including fighting to bring about a change in our failed policies in Iraq and to heighten attention to environmental crises both in Bergen County and across the globe. I hope I can live up to Congressman Rothman's record of demonstrating what talented and ethical people driven to serve the public interest can accomplish in office."
Dr. Dennis Shulman has gained international recognition for his 30 years of work as a psychologist, educator, and author. An ordained rabbi for five years and blind since childhood, he has lived in New Jersey's Fifth District for more than 25 years with his wife, Dr. Pamela Tropper, an obstetrician.
