WHAT ME WORRY?

http://www.insidebergen.com/documents/show/49

Early on, when this site launched last fall, we communicated with now former GOP Chair Rob Ortiz and informed him that we were hearing from the GOP grassroots that he was vulnerable to a challenge. And we reported accordingly.

His response at first was not to worry, and eventually he ignored us. He also ignored advice to reach out to the county committee who were unhappy with him. Rob never worried.

Ortiz's shortcomings were well documented on this site – in spite of the fact that we were repeatedly threatened by Ortiz backers.  Perhaps that’s why Bob Yudin chose to announce his candidacy here and went on to become the BCRO Chair.

When Yudin and his loyal supporter Paul Duggan organized events over the Holiday Season, we were the only outlet to cover those events.

For his part Bob Yudin is a likable guy and over the course of his campaign for chairman that quality came across. What also came across is that Bob Yudin is a man who honors his word. He is a man who keeps his commitments. In today's day and age that is rarity and it is something that should be recognized.

Can Bob Yudin save the BCRO?  That remains to be seen. We hope so, if for no other reason, we would like to see more competitive elections here in Bergen County.  What we do believe is that Yudin was the candidate who deserved to win. Congratulations Chairman Yudin.  You have proven that the GOP has not completely lost touch with reality.
